Service for manufacturers and suppliers

Suppliers: bringing a product into the Saudi market

Demand here is large, but price is not what decides first. The product has to enter the country and be approved on site — two different problems, both solved before the first sale. We work on both.

Who this is for

We work with suppliers who have production or stock and documentation for the product. A catalogue and a price list are not an entry: nobody here reads them.

  • You manufacture building materials, equipment or components and want to sell in the Kingdom
  • You are a supplier or trader looking for a channel in the Gulf
  • An enquiry from Saudi Arabia has already reached you and you do not know how to ship
  • The product is ready but the certification required for import is unclear
  • You are choosing between a local representative and your own entity and want both routes costed

What we do

Five blocks, taken together or separately depending on where you stand today.

Market analysis for your product range

Not a country overview but a review of your product group: who already sells the same thing and where the volume comes from, which project types use your material, what the client and the technical consultant require of it, how you actually differ and how that difference can be evidenced. The output is a written report with sources, not an opinion.

A representative or your own branch

Two routes, different in cost and in control. A local representative or distributor is faster and cheaper to start, but the range, the price and the customer are not yours to control. Your own entity or branch takes longer and costs more, but the stock, the price and the client relationship are yours. We cost both against your volume, find and vet candidate representatives, and prepare the terms of working with them.

Conformity certification for import

Products falling under the Kingdom's technical regulations are registered in the electronic conformity system before import: a certificate of conformity for the product plus a separate shipment certificate, with a registered importer as the applicant. Without that the goods do not clear the port. We establish what the regulation requires for your product group, check whether your test reports qualify, and run the process through an accredited body. Requirements and timelines are checked against the regulation in force on the date of enquiry — they change.

We submit it for approval

The part suppliers learn about too late. On site, material is used not on the strength of a catalogue but after approval by the client and the technical consultant: a technical submission goes in with certificates, test reports and a sample, and a decision is issued against it. We submit your product for approval on the projects we run, prepare the pack the way it is accepted here, and defend the submission when comments come back.

Logistics, terms and service

Port of entry, delivery terms, lead time and stock. What hurts on site is not price but lead time and service: cheap material that takes three months and arrives with no replacement for defects is not bought twice. This is settled before you quote.

Separately: materials for property projects

Part of the demand runs not through contractors but through owners of residential and commercial property, where one person decides rather than a committee and the road from sample to purchase is shorter.

  • Finishes, sanitaryware, doors, building services equipment, made-to-order furniture
  • Conformity requirements are the same; the document set on site is simpler
  • The owner or their technical representative decides, not a tender committee
  • On this line we act for the owner: we compare offers and protect their interest. Worth knowing in advance
  • More on the Saudi property page

Approval of material is the decision of the client and the technical consultant, not ours. We are accountable for the quality of the submission and for getting it reviewed, not for its outcome. Nobody can promise approval, and being promised one is a reason for caution.

How the work runs

  1. 01

    The form

What you make, where you are registered, capacity, whether you hold certificates and whether you have a representative or an entity in the Kingdom. Fifteen minutes, no documents.

  2. 02

    First response

Whether there is demand for your range, and what the main obstacle will be in your case — usually not price.

  3. 03

    Market review

A written report on the product group: demand, competitors, client requirements, a realistic position on price.

  4. 04

    Route and documents

Representative or branch, what the regulation requires for your product, who acts as importer, and in what order.

  5. 05

    Submission and selling

We submit the product for approval on the projects we run and negotiate supply terms.

Cost depends on what is needed: the market review alone, certification alone, or full entry. It follows the first conversation. Government fees and payments to accredited bodies go to them directly, not through us.

What we will not do

We do not promise volumes or orders

Neither on our projects nor on anyone else's. We are accountable for the submission and the negotiation, not for the client's decision.

We do not promise material approval

The client and the consultant approve. Promising that outcome is a sign the promiser has not worked on site.

We are not your importer by default

Who handles the import is agreed separately and fixed in writing: liability for the product's conformity follows it.

We do not act for both sides of one deal

If we act for the owner or the client, we do not act for the supplier approaching them.

We do not name clients or projects

Not in correspondence, not in presentations.

Frequent questions

Can we sell to a contractor directly from our own country?

Procurement runs through an entity in the Kingdom, and import is handled by a registered importer who is also the applicant on the conformity documents. So the question is not whether you can ship, but who in the Kingdom will be party to the deal and hold the documents.

Which certificates does our product need?

It depends on whether the product falls under a technical regulation, and which. There is no single list covering all groups and the requirements change, so we check them against the regulation in force on the date of enquiry rather than against an article online.

What is material approval and why does it matter more than price?

Only material approved by the client and the technical consultant, against a technical submission, gets used on a project. Until approval exists, no amount of money puts the material on site. Suppliers usually prepare a price and not a submission — and lose to those who did the opposite.

How long does market entry take?

We do not publish a timeline: it is made up of checking the requirements for your product, obtaining conformity, and the approval cycle on a specific project, and none of the three is ours to control. After the review we give a realistic sequence rather than a tidy date.

Do we need stock in the Kingdom?

Often yes, and it surfaces in the first conversation with a buyer: for many items lead time decides, not price. But that is a calculation against your range, not a general rule.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, before receiving technical information and prices.
